Darrel and Jessica Solonka have been involved with DiscipleTrips since 2016, when they took their first trip to Belize. They quickly fell in love with the people and the work being done through the Lord’s church there. In 2024, they became the first husband-and-wife team to lead a DiscipleTrip. Through these trips, they have had opportunities to meet people from many different backgrounds, build relationships, and serve the Lord’s church.

Darrel and Jessica were married in July 2004 and have two daughters and two granddaughters. Darrel worked in the oil and gas industry for more than 20 years before entering full-time ministry. Jessica is a hairstylist and speaks at Ladies’ Days, Ladies’ Retreats, and other women’s events.

In 2019, Darrel and Jessica sold their home in Conroe, Texas, and moved to Lubbock to attend Sunset International Bible Institute, where they each earned a Bachelor of Biblical Studies. Darrel went on to earn a Bachelor of Science degree in Ministry and Bible from Amridge University, while Jessica earned a Master’s degree in Biblical Studies in Youth and Family from Sunset International Bible Imstitute.

DiscipleTrips played an important role in leading Darrel and Jessica into ministry and continue to be a meaningful part of their service to the Lord.

Today, Darrel serves as the minister of Dover Church of Christ in Dover, Arkansas. Together, Darrel and Jessica are passionate about serving others, sharing the Gospel, and encouraging Christians to grow in their faith and service to the Lord.
