Shawn Gary has been in full time ministry for 33 years. Shawn has been a youth minister, a preacher and a missionary to Mexico. Most recently, Shawn has served at Green Lawn as the community outreach minister for over 12 years. He has 3 Bible degrees as well as an undergrad and masters in leadership. However, Shawn's favorite thing to talk about is his family. Shawn and Barbara have been married for 30 years. They have 5 children: Mason, his wife Anna (daughter by marriage), Madison, her husband Landry (son by marriage) and their youngest daughter Kayson. Malakai, their grandson, brings them great joy as well!

Shawn has led a trip to Honduras in 2025, but primarily has led trips to Mexico since 2007. Shawn joined DiscipleTrips in 2018. Although DiscipleTrips continues to grow, evolve and develop, this ministry has taken the difficulty of leading a mission trip and polished it into a Jesus focused, disciple making, gospel-spreading mission. Shawn is proud to be a small part in this incredible ministry for 8 years now!
