After a year of canceling all but one of our DiscipleTrips for 2020, we were extremely blessed to be able to go on our first DiscipleTrip of 2021! Darrin Bible led a team of fifteen disciples to Casa de la Esperanza (House of Hope) in Anahuac, Mexico on March 13th.

As the first trip since the pandemic, there certainly were fears, but this team overcame their fears with faith in God’s care and as a result saw their faith take flight! The children at the home had not had many people visit them in over a year so our team was welcomed with an extra dose of love and appreciation.

The team was also able to worship with the church in Anahuac in their new church building that has only been open for a little over a month. What a privilege, to not only worship with the brothers and sisters of Anahuac, but to also witness the baptism of one of the children from Casa, as well as hear a message from the newly hired pulpit minister, Osvaldo. The team’s cup was overflowing after just one day at Casa!

The rest of the week was equally blessed, there were work projects at the home and activities in the afternoon with the children including a VBS, BBQ, games, and a birthday fiesta! The team was also honored to be invited to a Bible study in the home of one of the members, and to do a food distribution to the poor of the community. At the core of this trip was the love of Jesus; His love was seen in the children of Casa, the members of the church in Anahuac, the staff of Casa and in the DiscipleTrip team.

These trips help us to see we are part of something that transcends languages and borders, we are all family, we belong to Jesus and He showered us with His love!
